All of the photography on Tangula's website and in our brochures was produced by two local photographers, Tibetan Lomsangdoduan and Beijing native Yan Zhang. We partnered with these photographers because they share our passion in China’s most exquisite locales as well as an interest in the people who inhabit these remote destinations.
Zhang Yan (张岩)
After graduating at the China Academy of Art and Design in Beijing, Zhang Yan has worked as a photographer in China and USA. His works have focused on his native city Beijing, and on capturing the natural beauty of Southwest China, particularly the more remote parts of Guanxi and Guizhou. Fascinated by the lifestyle of the local minorities who inhabit these remote areas, Zhang’s works have notably profiled the Miao and Dong minority groups. His photos have been published in several well known magazines, including Elle Décor and LaSalle. He currently lives in Beijing.
